De Dolly Dots werden opgericht in 1979. De groep bestond uit Angela Groothuizen, Ria Brieffies, Esther Oosterbeek, Patty Zomer, Anita Heilker en Angéla Kramers. Hun eerste single "(Tell It All About) Boys" was meteen een hit in Nederland, België en Duitsland. 26 andere hits volgden totdat ze in 1988 stopten. De dames waren behoorlijk populair in heel Europa, Turkije, Libanon, Egypte en IJsland. In Japan bereikten ze de platina-status met hun nummer één hit-single "Radio". Voor 2020 werd een reünietour aangekondigd, maar vanwege de coronapandemie werd deze uitgesteld tot 2021. De tour genaamd "Sisters On Tour" zal vergezeld gaan van hun nieuwe single genaamd "Are You With Me".
